a test for the pictures

So, I'm trying to add a picture to my profile... Perhaps I should tell the story of when Michael and Clayton Jay came to visit me in Provo town. because I have pictures for that. but not all of the pictures... (mike, if I need to yell at Dave to find the cord, just let me know)

So, it all started Thursday, march 22nd when I texted Chris Candito, as I often do when I need a laugh... somehow, Mike came up, (which is weird cuz that never happens) and Chris "accidentally let it slip" that Mike was coming up to surprise me. So, in turn, I go to Sarah and Casey's room to let them know/see what they think/ask for advise, etc...

*Casey Jo Cooley and Sarah Benton are two wonderful girls in my hall. I'm going to be living with them next fall. I'll occasionally refer to them in my blogs... I love them. *

Mike told me he was traveling with Silverado's volleyball team to California, which I thought was weird since he's not on it anymore... But once I heard he was really coming here, I decided to just play along instead of ruining his attempts to surprise me. Again. Friday March 23 was a beautiful day and I decided to work on my Relief Society lesson on a blanket outside...

*I'm a Relief Society teacher, which is actually a funny story. When we were doing opening interviews with the bishopric and the Relief Society Specialist lady, and they asked me what calling I would/would not like. I said, I'd be happy to be something like the "relief society greeter," if they had one, but I did NOT want to be a teacher of any kind. I think they just blended the two and dropped the "did not want" part, I dunno. It's actually turned out to be really good. I'm not half bad, (not that it's me, it's all the Spirit, right?) and I've learned so much. It's really been a blessing of a calling.*

After reading the same two paragraphs six times (in my lesson), and realizing that my mind was elsewhere, I kind of gave up. By then, three other girls in my hall had joined me on the blanket and we decided that listening to Jack Johnson and soaking up a little sun sounded more appealing than homework and church lessons. So that's what we did. Mike sent me a text around 2:30 saying he was at the hotel (in Cali with the v-ball team), and to me, that translated to "in Provo, putting our stuff down, coming to see you." When it hit 5 o'clock, and I hadn't heard from him again, I started to think that maybe Chris was kidding and Mike really was in California, plus he called me around then, updating me on the boy's games, so I started to believe that's where he really was. Depressing thought after thinking two of your best friends were coming to visit. So it was back to my dorm room to read some Harry Potter 6, and again, I fell asleep. Around 8:30, I heard a knock on my door. It was Sami (another girl in my hall) telling me someone was waiting for me in the lobby. Of course, she had a huge smile on her face, so that meant someone more than just my home teachers or something. I went running out there, and I saw mike and cj on the couch and I started laughing. It was pretty great, but they could tell I wasn't as surprised as I should've been... it was then that I told them I knew all along, and that Chris had told me... they would've guessed anyways.

We (Mike, Cj, and I, and then Jen, a lovely girl from my hall) went bowling for two hours that night, spent a lot of the boy's $$, which was delightful (haha) and bowled some amazing games. That all ended kind of late, so we took Jen home, then went to Wal Mart to allow Cj to obsessively look for some crazy cd that didn't even end up being that good... but it was still fun! Then, since the boys had never seen A Walk to Remember, I bought it, we watched it, and it ended up NOT being as cool as I remembered it. oh well. It was still a really fun night.

Saturday, I had a baby shower at 11, and I got home at 1. The boys had just woken up and showered, so they picked me up around 2. We walked to the Cougar Eat in the Wilk and had some lunch (on me! Dining Plus is a great thing). After that, we chilled in my lobby, waiting for my sister to call to let us know how to get to the park they were playing soccer at... that was fun. Then we went to the park, I don't really know what they boys did the whole time, it looked like paper airplanes and climbing trees... I played with my niece. When that was all said and done, we went and checked out the houses by the temple, because they are awesome. Then we went to the Mens Warehouse and mike and cj tried on some suits. Cj and I hid mike's camera for a while, and that was good fun. After that, we went to Nordstrom and I checked out some freaking hot shoes, of which mike has pictures, and I do not. Then we walked around for a bit deciding on what we want to do, and we decided on dinner, at the pizza factory. That was really good, but I couldn't put down much food, which was disappointing. Then we went to Carrabas for Italian sodas. We each got a free refill of a different flavor. And that's where the pictures come from! Then... oh yes, we bought phase 10, and played it for a while in Kayla's lobby. When they kicked us out, we went to Kayla's friend's house and watched a little Lakehouse and then then watched the boys play ping-pong. Like they've never done that before. Ever.

SUNDAY morning, the boys went to Cj's family's ward for a baby blessing whilst I had morning meetings and whatnot. Then we went to my ward at 1:30 and it was fast Sunday (the last fast Sunday of the semester) since last weekend was conference. Sacrament went about 20 minutes over because EVERYONE wanted to bear their testimonies. That was great fun. Sunday school was great except for that my stomach growled really loud during the closing prayer, and I heard a kid on the other side of the room commenting on it. Like that's not awkward. Then I had my lesson... and it was great. And then girls bore their testimonies, and half of us left the room crying. Weird how that happens. THEN we went to Cj's family's house in Springville for dinner, which was wonderful. I put a LOT of food away. Even Mike and Cj were impressed. When we got back to the dorms, it was visiting hours, so the boys got to see my room for once. And then they left. It was a GREAT weekend. aaand now you can see the pictures from carrabas.

I am glad you got the pictures to work. Garrard boys are cute. I had the same experience with a Walk to Remember. I swear, that used to be a really good movie but it really wasn't this last time.
